William George states that he "was lawfully posessed as of his own property of a certain negro woman slave named Violet of the value" of $600. George relates that he "casually lost" the slave, who came into the possession of William H. George. The petitioner claims that the defendant knew Violet belonged to him, but, with intent to "deceive and defraud your petitioner," he "converted said negro woman to his own use." William George claims damages of $600 and asks that William H. George appear at the next Superior Court session and answer his "action of Trover."
