- Salutation: To the honorable Lucius Q. Lamar Judge of the Superior Court of said county holding jurisdiction in Chancery
Abstract
Robert V. Hardeman is the guardian of James C. Weeks, one of several children of the late James Weeks. Weeks left a large estate that included many slaves. Hardeman states that Weeks's widow, Polly, has married John Gunn and that they have taken possession of the estate, hired out the slaves and rented out the land, generating considerable income and profits. Hardeman maintains that his ward is entitled to a share of the estate. He asks the court to have the defendants inventory the estate and settle it fairly.
