Abstract
Frances Drake alleges that William Dyar and William M. Puryear are indebted to him for $150, plus interest, "for the Hire of a negro named Sam." Drake further charges that the defendants were to “give him [Sam] necessary clothing during the time pay his tax and expenses and not work him on Boats nor in Gold mines." The petitioner claims that the defendants have not honored this financial obligation. Drake sues for $200 in damages.
