The petitioner states that he "casually lost" the slaves and that they have now come into the possession of James Eckles. Smith avers that Casey has since had three more children: Moses, Isaac, and Jacob. The petitioner asserts that Eckles has refused to deliver the slaves to him and sues for $5,000 in damages.
