Abstract
John Dean states that he "casually lost" his slave, Lucy Ann, sixteen years of age. The petitioner avers that John Geer is now in possession of the slave and refuses to return her. Dean asserts that Lucy is worth $800 and has a "yearly value" of $75. He believes that Geer has deprived him of $1,000, and he asks that Geer be summoned to answer his complaint.
Result: Dismissed.
