Abstract
Joseph Miller, trustee for Eseneth S. Edwards, states that he purchased two slaves from John F. Comer for $1150: Eliza, twenty-six years of age, and her child, Louisa, seven or eight years of age. The petitioner avers that despite the warranty, the slaves were "unsound unhealthy & not of good mind." Miller argues that the slaves are now "of no use or value." He seeks $1150 in damages.
Result: Partially granted; appealed; dismissed.
