Petition #20684204

Abstract

Eliza Hanson states that her father, Phillip Wray, conveyed a life interest in 300 acres of land and twelve slaves to her in 1813, giving her children a remainder interest in the same. Wray conveyed another 287-acre tract and six slaves in trust to Eliza and her sister in 1819, with the same limitations attached. The latter deed instructed the trustees to sell the land and divide the proceeds and the slaves to the parties in interest. The petitioners aver that the original trustees have died and the court-appointed trustee, James Tinsley, wishes to resign his commission. The petitioners ask the court to appoint Phillip Hanson in his place.
