Abstract
Wyatt Starke states that on 20 October 1844, his slave, Guy, was convicted and sentenced to death for the charges of "Burglary in the night time, Robbery and an Assault of an aggravated nature." Starke states that at the trial in the Inferior Court, he made several objections on procedural and evidential grounds, but that the slave was found guilty despite his efforts. He now asks that the court review the case and order the constable "to desist and refrain from all further proceedings under said sentence until further order of your Honor."
