Elizabeth Day states that a suit has been filed by the some of the heirs of Absalom Rhodes, a deceased slave owner, against Richard Day and John Rhodes, executors, for a division of the estate. She avers that her husband, Richard Day, has become greatly indebted to the estate, reducing her share of the inheritance. She "asserts her right to a settlement" and asks the court to recognize and protect her "rights and Equity" to the small share of land that remains. She also seeks the appointment of W. H. Sikes as trustee of her property.
