Petition #20685110

Abstract

Robert McGehee, administrator of the estate of Daniel Wagnon, deceased, states that in 1821, Wagnon was declared insane. Nathaniel Howell was appointed guardian of Wagnon and his property, which included twenty slaves, valued at $10,000. Howell died in 1839 without ever rendering an account or settlement of the property; Wagnon lived until 1846, though no new guardian was appointed. Now, says McGehee, Nathaniel Howell's administrators, Daniel Howell and Samuel Cutright, have distributed Wagnon's land and slaves as if they were part of Howell's estate. McGehee seeks a full and fair settlement of the estate.

Result: Dismissed.
