Abstract
Jesse Dalton "casually lost" four slaves. The petitioner avers that the slaves were "worth for hire per annum the sum of Two hundred dollars." The slaves are now in the possession of Francis Smith, who refuses to return them to Dalton. Dalton seeks $3,000 in damages.
Result: Settled.
