Petition #20781303

Abstract

Richard and Sally Taylor sue Nancy Blanton, widow and administratrix of the estate of John Blanton, and Blanton's other heirs. When Sally and Richard Taylor married in 1795, her father, John Blanton, advanced to them three slaves. When Blanton died in 1806, his estate consisted of several tracts of land and thirty-one slaves. The petitioners charge that Nancy Blanton, administratrix, represented some of the slaves to be "older and more infirm than they really were," rendering their valuation to be significantly less than in reality. Further, the Taylors were not allotted any part of the estate as a result of the previous advancement Blanton had given them. They ask the court to appoint auditors and commissioners in order that the estate be divided and they be allotted their share.

Result: Dismissed.
