William Davis charges that his son-in-law James Slater has fraudulently claimed possession of his land, slaves, livestock, and personal possessions so that Davis "is now insolvent and not worth one cent." Davis fears his four infant children by his second wife will be cheated and defrauded after his death by Slater, and he asks that Slater be compelled to return the property or pay for it if he has sold it. Rachael and her three children -- Joshua, Isaac, and Peter -- are part of the property "feloniously" taken by Slater.
