Since Linn's death, Marshall states that \"his earnings have gone to his several masters,\" leaving him unable to pay the expenses of a suit.  He states that he \"must and will Suffer great injury and verily believes he will finally loose his liberty forever\" unless he is allowed to sue as a poor person.
