Petition #20783602

Abstract

The petitioners state that they are the widow and son of Richard Damron, who died possessed of a large estate that included slaves. They claim that the administrator of the estate, William Ratliffe, sold or retained all of Damron's property "under pretence of its being necessary to do so to enable him to pay the Debts of their said Testator, when in fact and in truth he was but little in debt." They ask that Ratliffe be compelled to account for the estate and that whatever was left after paying the debts be decreed to them.
