Petition #20785140

Abstract

In their amended bill, Joseph A. Gearheart and others fear the property of Jacob Mayo "will be exhausted" by the time a decree is reached on their pending suit. They believe that "Mayo will run off, or so dispose of said negro, that if a Decree is rendered by this Court, in their favor, they will be unable to Execute, said Decree & obtain the Negro." Charging that Mayo's purchase of Mose "was fraudulent," the petitioners pray that Mayo be enjoined and restrained from selling or removing Mose.
