Abstract

Elizabeth Stratton states that "she was lawfully [possessed] of a negroe girl of the age of twelve years that the said girl was bound to her by the Floyd County Court she being a free girl of couller till she was of the age of eighteen years." Stratton charges that William McReynolds and Drewry B. Brown illegally arrested and enslaved the girl. Stratton seeks monetary damages in the amount of $500 for the girl.
