The heirs of Herman Bowman Sr. inform the court that the said Bowman died on 8 October 1855 in the state of Louisiana. At the time of his death, he owned land and slaves in three states. Bowman's heirs pray for "a sale of the slaves in Kentucky, the lot in Versailles owned by said Herman Bowman Senr at the time of his death, and a settlement of the accounts of his administration and a distribution of his estate."
