Abstract
The Attorney General, Francis Martin, petitions on behalf of the State of Louisiana to detain and sell six slaves, both male and female. According to Martin, the slaves were "imported into the United States ... contrary to law from the Coast of Africa or some other foreign country." Martin "prays that a writ issue to the Sheriff to seize and detain said slaves."
