Abstract
The Attorney General, Francois X. Martin, petitions on behalf of the State of Louisiana to detain and sell four slaves. According to the petition, Pierre Louis, Miguel, Julian, and Joseph "were imported contrary to law from Carthagina or some other foreign place or country." According to law, the slaves have become forfeited to the State. Martin therefore prays for the seizure and sale of the slaves.
