Abstract

Rozette Villier, a free woman of color, asks the court to order posting of the emancipation notices required by the law to free her thirty-year-old slave, Norbert, who is also her "natural," son, i.e., a son born out of wedlock. Villier vouches that Norbert has always been well behaved and has not tried to run away [Original in French; Docket in English].
