Abstract
Marie Anstive, a free woman of color, presents to the court that she "has the intention to emancipate" her fifty-year-old female slave named Catherine. She declares that Catherine has always "led an honest conduct," has not run away, and has not committed any crime. She therefore asks the court to order that "notice according to law" be posted up.
Result: Granted.
