Abstract
Paul Borée, a free man of color, presents to the court that he is in the intention of emancipating from the bonds of slavery ["de tous liens d'esclavage"] his thirty-three-year-old female slave named Françoise, as a reward for good services. He asks the court to order that the publications and notices ["publications & affiches"] be made by the sheriff. He declares that Françoise has always had a conduct above reproach ["irréprochable"] and that she has none of the vices that could deprive her of this opportunity [Original in French].
