Abstract

Jeanne Euphrosine, a free woman of color, presents to the court that she "wishes to set free" her "natural," i.e., illegitimate, son named Hilaire, who is "above the age of thirty years." She declares that Hilaire "has always behaved well." She therefore asks the court to order that "the usual advices" be posted up "according to law."

Result: Granted.
