Abstract
Bella, a free woman of color, presents to the court that she has been authorized by the police jury, "with the approbation of the parish judge," to emancipate her sixteen-year-old daughter named Arthemise. She therefore prays that due notice of her intention to emancipate Arthemise be given and that, at the end of the legal delay, she may be permitted to pass the act of emancipation.
