Abstract
Philippe Hazeur, a free man of color, presents to the court that he "has the intention" of emancipating his thirty-seven-year-old mulatto slave ["a griff"] named Baptiste, who is also his son. He asks the court to order that the notices of emancipation be posted up "according to law."
