- Court: Parish
- Salutation: To the Honorable Charles Maurian Judge of the Parish court in and for the Parish and city of New Orleans
Abstract
Mollier Duvernay, a free man of color, presents to the court that it is his "wish" to emancipate his three slaves, twelve-year-old Mollier, fifteen-year-old Molliereine, and nineteen-year-old Marie Rose, in consideration of their "good and faithful services." He therefore asks the court to order that "legal notices" be given and to authorize him to pass the act of emancipation in favor of all three slaves. Related documents reveal that Mollier Duvernay is the "natural" father of the three children.
