Francisco Sola presents to the court that he is the owner of a five-year-old mulatto girl named Ursule, whom he had purchased from a person called Fourcisy under the express condition that he would emancipate her. He explains that he intends to emancipate Ursule in consideration of the "faithful & important services" rendered by Ursule's mother as well as in compliance with the condition of sale. Francisco Sola asks the court to order posting of the notices "required by law" in such cases.
