Abstract
Célestin Nicolas, a free man of color, presents to the court that he has obtained the consent of the police jury to emancipate his daughter named Jocrisse, also known as Charlotte. He asks the court to order that the "usual publications or notices" be posted up, "according to law," so that he may "proceed further to obtain the emancipation of his daughter."
