The debt represents the unpaid balance against a total purchase of lumber worth $411.55.  Barcley and Tenney believe that Douce is \"on the eve of leaving the state of Louisiana forever,\" but that he owns property in the parish, “real, personal & mixed.”  They therefore pray that Douce be decreed to pay the debt and that a writ of attachment be issued to seize his property or as much as is necessary to meet their claim.","subjects":[{"subject":"Property owners (Black)"},{"subject":"Crops (timber)"}]}]}
