The debt represents the unpaid balance against a total purchase of lumber worth $411.55.  Barcley and Tenney believe that Douce is "on the eve of leaving the state of Louisiana forever," but that he owns property in the parish, “real, personal &amp; mixed.”  They therefore pray that Douce be decreed to pay the debt and that a writ of attachment be issued to seize his property or as much as is necessary to meet their claim.</abstract><subjects><subject>Property owners (Black)</subject><subject>Crops (timber)</subject></subjects></petition>
