Abstract
Adelaide Arsène Cotonmaïs, a free woman of color and the widow of the late Jacquitte Rachal, also a free person of color, represents that her recently deceased husband has left a small estate burdened with debt. The property consists of a tract of land and a few "moveables." Adeline prays for an order of inventory and appraisement as a preliminary to the appointment of an estate administrator and to help her decide whether to accept or renounce the community of property that existed between her and her late husband.
