- Salutation: To the Hon Judge of the Sixteenth Judicial District, of the State of Louisiana, sitting in and for the Parish of Natchitoches
Abstract
Nerestin Pierre Metoyer, a free man of color, represents that Neuville Lacour, a free man of color, died in 1853, "leaving a small estate consisting of slaves." According to Metoyer, the succession is "very much in debt" and it is necessary to appoint an administrator. Metoyer therefore prays to be appointed administrator and further prays for an order directing that an inventory and appraisement of the property be made.
