Abstract
Léon George seeks his freedom. George states that "he is a mulatto, and free, having enjoyed his freedom without any interruption from any one for the last twenty three or four years." Despite this fact, Henry Demouy "has lately attempted to exercise dominion" over him and now claims him as his slave. George prays that he be declared free and that he be granted judgment against Demouy for $1,000 in damages.
