Manuel B. Llorens, a free man of color of the parish of Natchitoches, represents that Marie Lodoiska, a free woman of color and the widow of Joseph Metoyer Jr., is indebted to him in the sum of $122.50 with interest from the 1st of January 1857. The debt covers money owed on account for rent on a house, schooling paid for Marie's son, and the proceeds of a bale of cotton. Llorens contends that Marie Lodoiska Metoyer has acknowledged the debt but neglects to pay on amicable demand. Llorens therefore prays that Marie Lodoiska Metoyer be directed to pay the amount on account plus interest and costs of suit.
