"The petition of Sosthène Jacques Charlot & Don Louis Jacques Charlot free men of color with respect represents That your petitioners are two of the heirs of Marie Arthémise Simien, f.w.c., & deceased wife of Jacques Charlot, & that François Simien, also of the parish of St Landry, was appointed administrator of the Succession of the said Marie Arthémise Simien, your petitioners' mother, & also dative tutor of your petitioners. Your petitioners further aver that more than twelve months have elapsed since the appointment of the said François Simien as administrator aforesaid, & that he has never file[d] an account of his administration of said succession The premises being considered your petitioners pray that the said François Simien may [be] cited before this honorable court to answer this petition & then & there that he may be ruled to render a full & final account of his administration of the succession of the said Marie Arthémise Simien. And for general relief And as in duty bound &c &c."
