Adolphe Prudhomme seeks to settle the estate of the late Genevieve DelRio Coindet, a free woman of color. Prudhomme represents that he has filed his final account of the administration of the estate and that "he desires the homologation of this account & tableau or statement of debts and to be authorized to pay the creditors as ranked and placed thereon." Prudhomme also informs the court that the heirs of the estate are Genevieve's four minor children by her husband Jules Coindet, a free man of color, and they are represented by Noël Mezieres, a free man of color who is their uncle and tutor. Prudhomme prays that Mezieres and the widower, Jules Coindet, be made to answer this bill, that the account of the administrator be approved by the court, and that he be "discharged from further administration of the succession."
