Caleb Stewart asks the court to confirm the sale of a slave named Bill. Stewart sold the slave "as agent of Mrs. Ann Watkins," who is the guardian of Elizabeth Watkins. The petitioner reports that he sold Bill to Roderick Dorsey for $450, "which was all that could be obtained for him, owing to the very bad character that said Bill always or at least for some years past has borne."
