Petition #20982403
- Anne Arundel County, Maryland. February 19, 1824. - October 20, 1824.
- Court: Chancery
- Salutation: To The Honourable John Johnson Chancellor of Maryland
Abstract
Nicholas Worthington, trustee of Anne Worthington, "who has been found Lunatic," states that his ward received five slaves from the estate of Thomas Worthington, deceased. The petitioner states that since Anne Worthington possesses no real estate, the slaves are a "useless incumbrance and the maintenance and care of them will be attended with considerable trouble and expense." He therefore asks the court's permission to sell the slaves.
