Susanna Barber, administratrix of the estate of her late husband John T. Barber, petitions the court to keep the property of the estate together instead of distributing it into the "Hands of many." Barber also seeks to have certain credits applied to the estate. Finally, she requests emancipation for a slave named James, "which my husband never Intended Should be a Slave after his Death, and which all my children agreed Should be freed." The Estate Account receives a credit for "funeral Expences" for deceased slaves, Cesar and Henry, totaling $18.50.
