Abstract
Elizabeth Lee, widow of slaveholder Stephen Lee, states that a codicil in her late husband's last will and testament stipulated that son Stephen Lewis Lee "should not have any commission as one of the Executors of his Will having made provision for him for what he should receive of his Estate." She reports that Lee and the other executor, Robert Welch, have paid the debts of the estate and "are now prepared to pass a final account of their administration." The widow "believes and charges that the said Executors claim to be allowed" credits for $962 and $350.18, which Stephen L. Lee claims are "for personal services rendered by him." Elizabeth Lee asks the court to examine the documents of the estate and rule against credits for the two executors.
Result: Denied; appealed.
