James Fowler, executor of the estate of the late Richard Fowler, requests that four slaves belonging to the estate--Jack, Reuben, Louisa, and Louisa's infant daughter-- be sold at a private sale to Richard Fowler's widow, Mary. "All of said negroes have been raised in the family of said Richard Fowler and from attachment to them your Petititioners are unwilling that they should be seperated from the family." The widow "is anxious to retain them in her Service" and is willing to pay the appraised value.
