The heirs of John Panell "beg leave of Your Honors" to allow Lucy, a negro woman belonging to Panell's estate, to "buy the Balance of her Servitude as she has but a few years more to Serve." The petitioners are willing "that She Should buy her and her Child's time from us for the amount of Seventy five Dollars." They pray that "your honors as a favor" will grant their request.
