Eight slaves in the estate of Charles Waters petition the court for their freedom according to the provisions of the deceased's last will and testament. They state that they have "generally attained the age of forty five," and wish to formally declare "their willingness to abide by, in all respects, the Laws of the State of Maryland, in reference to Slaves manumitted by last will and testament."
