Andrew Franklin, Sarah Johnson, and Charlotte Hines are free people of color who claim "they were detained in the possession of F G. Waters, executor of Charles Waters" for over four months in 1846, during which time "they were entitled to be paid as hirelings." They ask the court to decide what they are "respectively entitled to receive." The court decree reflects hiring prices for the year of 1846.
