The "Corporate Body" of the African Methodist Bethel Church states that "Trustees have from time to time been elected for taking charge of the property ... and for managing and controuling its' temporal concerns and interests." It claims that the present trustees are "unworthy of your Orator's confidence and have brought themselves under the suspicion of being governed by fraudulent intents." The petitioners ask that the trustees, named as defendants, be subpoenaed for questioning, that they "be forever prohibited and enjoined from in any wise acting as Trustees," and that all the funds and property belonging to the church be returned.
