Philip Pettebone, executor of the estate of Richard Gardiner, petitions for the freedom of two slaves. Gardiner's will specified that slaves were to be freed when they reached the age of thirty-eight and the petitioner points out that both Jack Henson and Nace Hall "are over the age of Thirty eight years."
