Levi L. Tayman reports that he bought four slaves from John and Lucy Mitchell at private sale. He states that said slaves were represented as being "perfectly sound and healthy of body," but he now argues that the "representations were false and fraudulent and made with the view of cheating and deceiving your petitioner." He claims the slaves are "diseased" and in poor health. Tayman states that his requests that the sale be cancelled and his bonds be returned have been in vain. He cites that the infant child has died and that the remaining three slaves are "a dead loss and Expense to the persons who own them." He asks that the sale be annulled and that he receive any further relief the court deems appropriate.
