Abstract
William Brewer Jr., administrator of the estate of the late William Rawlings, reports that he erroneously included a slave named James Pointer in the inventory of Rawlings's estate. He explains that Pointer's former owner, William Sayer, has now produced a bill of sale in which Rawlings agreed to free Pointer in 1852. Brewer asks the court to execute a deed of manumission for Pointer and to credit his inventory with the appraised value of the slave.
