The widow and children of John Claytor maintain that they have "held together" Claytor's estate but now they would like to divide it among the estate's heirs, "according to their respective rights." Mary Claytor will receive one-third of the estate as John's widow and the children will receive the balance in "five equal parts." The petitioners ask the court to appoint a commission to reappraise the estate and then divide the same equitably. The estate includes thirty-six slaves.
